South or river side photo of JKCHC building in progress 8-10-13

If you were floating down the Chilkat River in a boat or raft you would see this view of the JKCHC building in progress. The two larger windows you see under the rafters are for the Art Studio/Community Education Classroom.  We have been working with the University of Alaska Southeast-Sitka Campus to host traditional arts classes in Klukwan for the past 20 years and now there will be designated space for those classes to happen.  The window dimensions are aproximately  9' wide x 4'high. This should provide enough natural light from these south facing windows to weave, sew, and carve.
